Intensive care for patients with increased intracranial pressure following craniotomy
Kim Hyun-Su
Abstract
The scenario described herein has been designed to teach the process of intensive care for patients with increased intracranial pressure post-craniotomy. Increased intracranial pressure is a critical emergency condition that can develop in patients following craniotomy. Affected patients may present with headaches, vomiting, and changes in consciousness level. Therefore, understanding these symptoms and associated therapeutic interventions is crucial to providing effective treatment, such as administrating osmotic diuretics and decreasing the intracranial pressure. This scenario could serve as a training tool to enhance nursing knowledge in emergency situations and aid in accurate clinical judgement among students.
